Everything, Arranged for You
Peony Hill partners with trusted local professionals — chefs, massage therapists, photographers, and more — to bring whatever you'd like directly to the house. Simply add it to your stay, and it's ready when you are.
An unhurried evening around the table, with nothing to plan and nothing to clean up. A local private chef prepares a seasonal, locally sourced menu in the house kitchen and serves it to your group, whether that is a quiet family dinner, a rehearsal dinner or a birthday celebration. Catered meals are also available for larger gatherings.
A licensed massage therapist comes to you, in our quiet spa studio within the house. Sessions are tailored to what you need, from gentle relaxation to deeper bodywork, and can be scheduled for one guest or several. A lovely way to begin a wedding weekend, or simply to rest after a day in the Shenandoah Valley.
A soft blanket laid out in the peony garden or beside the labyrinth, with cushions, curated snacks, cold drinks or a bottle of your favorite wine waiting for you. Everything is set before you arrive, so all that is left is to settle in for golden hour and the mountain views. Perfect for a proposal, an anniversary or a slow afternoon together.
A trusted local photographer to capture your time here, candid or posed. The house, the gardens, the poolside and our Friesian horses all make beautiful settings for family portraits, engagement photos, elopements or your micro wedding. You leave with images of a weekend worth remembering.
A private, scheduled visit with the Friesian horses of Friesian Legacy Rescue, just steps from the house. Meet the herd, hear the story of each horse and spend a few quiet moments up close. Wonderful for children and families. Donations are always welcome and go directly toward the horses’ care.
All add-ons are arranged after booking, not built into your rate. If something comes up once you've arrived, just let us know and we'll do our best to arrange it during your stay.

Peony Hill was built in 2004 in the spirit of this town, not as an inherited estate but as a place meant to hold onto what Lexington has always been. Kind. Welcoming. Rooted in its own history. For anyone who's spent time here, staying at Peony Hill feels a little like coming home.
Beginning in 2027
Community Events
Starting in 2027, we'll open our gates a few times a year to share Peony Hill with our Lexington neighbors. Wander the gardens, gather on the lawn and enjoy the grounds the way our guests do. We'll begin in spring with peony picking over Mother's Day weekend, with more seasonal gatherings to follow.

Life at Friesian Legacy Rescue
Peony Hill is also home to Friesian Legacy Rescue, a working equine sanctuary just steps from the house. Guests are always welcome to visit, and every stay here helps support the horses' care, giving Peony Hill a quiet sense of purpose beyond hospitality.
